Fragrance Notes
The first impression, and usually the lightest part of the fragrance. These notes evaporate first, which is how a fragrance is built to open.
As well as the top notes fading, your nose adapts to a constant scent and stops registering it, while people nearby still smell it. Smell your wrist after leaving the room, or ask someone close.
The main body of the scent, emerging as the top notes fade. It shapes how the fragrance smells once it settles on skin.

Heavier molecules that evaporate slowly, like woods, musk, amber and oud. They are there from the start, and they are what remains once the rest has faded.

TL;DR
- Spiced citrus opening, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom cut with grapefruit
- Best for: cooler weather, a warm resinous spice-and-amber character
Salvage Elixir opens on cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and grapefruit, warm spice cut with citrus bitterness. Lavender bridges briefly into a base of licorice, sandalwood, amber, patchouli and Haitian vetiver, settling into a resinous, slightly sweet, dry-woody finish.
What Does Salvage Elixir Smell Like?
Salvage Elixir opens on a spiced-citrus accord: cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom stacked together for a warm, baking-spice character, cut through by grapefruit for a sharper, more bitter edge than a typical spice blend. That grapefruit is doing real work here — without it the spice trio would read as heavy and sweet, but the bitterness keeps the opening lively and stops the spice from settling too fast. Lavender sits alone in the heart, and with only one heart note the composition moves quickly from spice into base, with the lavender acting mainly as a herbal bridge rather than a developed floral stage; its slightly camphorous, cool quality also tempers the warmth of the opening spices before the base takes hold. The base is where the character settles: licorice adds an aniseed-like sweetness, sandalwood and amber bring smooth warmth, patchouli deepens it with earth, and Haitian vetiver closes it out dry and grounded. The spice-to-licorice-to-vetiver line gives Salvage Elixir a warm, slightly sweet, resinous character with the grapefruit and lavender keeping it from feeling too dense, and the four-material base gives it more textural range than a single amber note would. Reading the note list as a whole, the composition is built on contrast — bitter against sweet, dry spice against resinous base — rather than settling into one register throughout, which is what keeps a fairly compact structure from feeling simple or thin.
How Does It Develop Through the Day?
The spiced-citrus opening is the most active phase — cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom arrive together with grapefruit cutting across them, so the first impression is warm but not soft. As the citrus fades, lavender briefly comes through as a herbal, slightly cooler note before the base notes take over; this stage is short compared with a fragrance built around a fuller floral heart. From here the licorice, sandalwood, amber, patchouli and vetiver build steadily, layering in over each other rather than one note simply replacing the last. Because the heart is so brief, the wear reads as moving almost directly from a spiced top to a warm, earthy base. By the later hours what remains is the licorice-amber sweetness against a dry patchouli-vetiver backbone — a settled, resinous finish rather than the sharper spice of the opening, and one that sits close to the skin rather than projecting. The scent arc is a fairly quick move from an active, bitter-spiced top into a long, stable resinous base, with little in between to slow that transition down.
Is It for Men or Women?
Salvage Elixir is treated as unisex — the spice-and-citrus opening and the amber-patchouli-vetiver base are shared territory rather than gendered materials, and nothing in the composition itself calls for a strict men's or women's framing.
Who It's For
Salvage Elixir suits anyone who likes a spice-forward opening balanced by real bitterness rather than straight sweetness — the grapefruit keeps the cinnamon and nutmeg from feeling heavy, and the licorice-amber-patchouli base gives it a warm, resinous finish. It works well through cooler months, when a denser spiced amber has room to come through.
