Fragrance Notes
The first impression, and usually the lightest part of the fragrance. These notes evaporate first, which is how a fragrance is built to open.
As well as the top notes fading, your nose adapts to a constant scent and stops registering it, while people nearby still smell it. Smell your wrist after leaving the room, or ask someone close.
The main body of the scent, emerging as the top notes fade. It shapes how the fragrance smells once it settles on skin.

Heavier molecules that evaporate slowly, like woods, musk, amber and oud. They are there from the start, and they are what remains once the rest has faded.

Product Details
TL;DR
- Fruity-floral opening, resinous woody-incense base
- Best for: evening wear, cooler weather
Ombery Rover opens with raspberry and geranium, a fruity-green start that moves into rose and saffron at the heart. The base is dense and resinous: agarwood, benzoin, incense, birch and amberwood layered together for a dark, woody-amber finish that carries most of the fragrance's weight and character.
What Does Ombery Rover Smell Like?
Raspberry opens things with a soft, fruity sweetness, balanced by geranium's green, slightly rosy-herbal edge, so the top reads fruity rather than sugary. The heart moves into rose and saffron together: rose brings a true floral centre, while saffron adds a dry, warm, faintly leathery quality that keeps the floral from turning soft or powdery. The base is the most built-out part of the composition, with agarwood (oud), benzoin, incense, birch and amberwood all layered in. Agarwood supplies the core woody-resinous depth, benzoin and incense add a warm, slightly smoky sweetness, birch contributes a drier, tar-edged woodiness, and amberwood ties it together with a soft amber warmth. The result is a dense, resinous woody-floral rather than a light or linear fragrance — most of its character sits in that five-note base. The rose and saffron heart acts as a bridge between the fruity top and the resinous base: rose carries enough weight to stand up to what follows, while saffron's dryness previews the incense and birch to come. Because the base notes outnumber and outweigh the top and heart combined, the fruity-floral opening reads more like an introduction than a fully developed stage — this is a fragrance whose identity sits mostly in its final third. The five base materials also don't compete for space the way a smaller, sharper set might: agarwood and amberwood share a soft woody register that lets benzoin's sweetness and incense's smoke sit comfortably alongside birch's dry edge without any one note overpowering the others.
How Does It Develop Through the Day?
Raspberry and geranium lead the opening, fruity and green before the composition has warmed up. Rose and saffron come through next, shifting the fragrance into a floral-spiced middle stretch that's warmer and drier than the top. From there the five-note base takes over — agarwood, benzoin, incense, birch and amberwood build in layer by layer, and the fragrance moves from fruity-floral into something considerably darker, denser and more resinous. This is a composition that gains weight as it wears rather than staying light throughout, with the base doing most of the work in the later stages. The five base notes don't all arrive at once either — agarwood and benzoin tend to surface first, with incense and birch's smokier, drier character becoming more apparent later, and amberwood rounding the whole base off once the smokiness has softened. By the final stretch the raspberry and geranium opening is a distant memory, replaced by a fragrance that reads almost entirely as dark, resinous wood. Given how much of the composition's weight sits in that closing stage, it wears more like a base-heavy fragrance that happens to have a fruity introduction than a fruity-floral fragrance with a woody finish — the destination, not the opening, is the point.
Is It for Men or Women?
Marketed toward men, and nothing in the notes — raspberry and geranium aside, the fragrance is dominated by a dense woody-resinous base of agarwood, benzoin, incense, birch and amberwood — pulls against that framing.
Who It's For
Ombery Rover suits anyone who wants a fragrance that starts light and ends heavy. The raspberry and geranium opening gives it an easy entry point, but the real character sits in the base, where agarwood, benzoin, incense, birch and amberwood build into a dense, resinous woody-amber finish. Well suited to cooler weather and evening wear, where that kind of depth has room to come through.
